The greatest achievement in the new Freeway is that it allows you to perform all acro figures, including infinity tumbling, while allowing for even smoother transitions between them.
WHO IS IT FOR?
Freeway 3 is a continuation of the earlier wings developed by Jean Baptiste-Chandelier, a specialist in freestyle and aerobatic flying.
Freeway3 is designed for beginner and intermediate acro pilots. To fly it, experience gained on SIV courses and the ability to properly perform a full stall are necessary. The wing will then be the right tool to master all other maneuvers.
FreeWay 3 was developed for those who want to learn and improve their acrobatics, and at the same time have a wing with better performance than advanced aerobatic wings. It is universal enough for you to have some fun on the cliffs or dunes.
DESIGN AND STRUCTURE
We have devoted a lot of work to optimizing the shape of the valves on the inlets in order to obtain right air pressure in the canopy when performing aerobatics. Some of the inlets on the stabilizers have a special mesh that maintains their optimal shape. The wing is also equipped with a trimmer.
FreeWay 3 is meant to be both fun and safe – that’s why we adopted the principle of small areas (= high dynamics of behavior) and low aspect ratios, so that it can be used in a really wide take-off weight range – up to 120
The entire body of the paraglider was designed under our CSG (Canopy Shape Guard) scheme, combining multiple subsystems and resulting in an exceptionally coherent and durable body.
FreeWay 3 has an elliptic planform with slightly swept wingtips. The chambers are divided into two cells, and the ribs are additionally supported by VSS (V-shaped supports). Such design practically guarantees a smooth top surface, exact aerofoil reproduction across the entire wingspan,
better load distribution and yet more importantly, as few suspension points as
possible.
All along the lower surface, there is RSS (Reinforcing Strap System) employed - a different than usual ballooning scheme way of keeping the wing more rigid and stable. The reinforcements consist of textile straps.
Freeway XX is manufactured in Flexi Edge technology. The leading edge is closed to the airstream, and its shape is precisely kept by laminated cloth reinforcements with additional synthetic rods, which considerably improve launch qualities and guard against deflations at high speeds.
The cell openings are located on the undersurface of the canopy, close to its leading edge. Their exact position has been chosen so that point of maximum pressure stays within the intake area as long as possible.
To maintain sufficient air pressure in the wing during aerobatics maneuvers, we designed innovative valves on the cell openings. The shape and position of these valves are really important to control the internal pressure, so they were carefully tuned.
The wingtips feature auto cleaning slots (ACS), automatically removing dirt otherwise bound to stuck in there. Carefully chosen mix of modern design and best materials make sure the Freeway XX has great durability. All materials used come from registered batches and each production stage can be verified (down to identifying individual worker and quality inspector).
Freeway 3 is manufactured with the use of a precise laser cutting plotter. The production process as a whole takes place in Poland under the strict supervision of Piotr Dudek, with the highest European quality.
